Welcome to the Rotary Club of Stratford’s website.
This is Year Eight for our club. Our goals are twofold: to raise funds to help great causes; and to share fellowship through the organization that is Rotary. Rotary has been advancing these goals for over 100 years.
Our club works with Camp Gencheff, Mikinduri, Farmers-Helping-Farmers, the Food Bank, local schools for literacy programming and the Fuel for Families Project. We were able to donate nearly $25,000 in 2008-09 and we hope to top that in the coming year.
Within the next decade Rotary International will see the eradication of polio - only the second time that humans have been able to completely eradicate a disease (the other being smallpox).
Perhaps you are interested in helping to eliminate polio or to work to support one of our other projects. If so, please contact us if you’d like to find out more about us, and the things we do.
Gordon Boothroyd receiving the charter from Tom Wilkinson
The Rotary Club of Stratford is the youngest of the six Rotary clubs on Prince Edward Island and the youngest club in Rotary International District 7820.
On June 18, 2002, our first President Gordon Boothroyd received our Charter from then District Governor Tom Wilkinson at Fox Meadow Golf and Country Club. This special day was the result of many informal meetings led by our sponsoring club, the Rotary Club of Charlottetown Royalty in the winter of 2001/2002.
Membership is the most important part of Rotary. It's through members that Rotary grows and learns, and we're always looking forward to meeting new, energetic people.
If you're interested in joining our Club, or even learning a bit more about Rotary, please use the Contact Us link to send us a mesage. We'd love to have you stop by a meeting and find out first hand just what we do. You don't have to be in any particular vocation or have any special skills - just a passion to make a difference.
